Meet Our Makers

Meet the talented artisans behind every stitch, weave, and creation.

The women behind Konti

"Every purchase supports women artisans like the ones you see here—helping them build independence and support their families."

Behind each sweater, gloves, hat, scarf, ornaments and carpet is a maker with her own skills, routines and reasons for doing this work. Some work side by side in our production facilities. Many more work from home, fitting craft around family life.

Their names, faces and voices belong on this page because they are the reason Konti exists.

Where our makers work

In our facilities

35 women artisans work in KTS production spaces in Lalitpur, where they knit, weave, finish and check each piece together and learn from one another.

From home

More than 1,600 women work from their own homes in towns around the Kathmandu Valley. Home-based work lets them earn a steady income without stepping away from family and household responsibilities.

How a maker joins us

Everything starts with training. KTS teaches practical skills in knitting, weaving and finishing, and makers who choose to join our income-generating programme can then take on production work, in our facilities or from home. From there, they build experience, take on more complex pieces and earn a steady income of their own.

Fair pay, fair treatment

Konti is made under Fair Trade principles. That means [fair wages / safe working conditions / no child or forced labour / transparent pricing, confirm which apply and how you're certified or verified]. Margins from every sale go back into education, vocational training and healthcare for our community.

From hand to you

Each piece passes through several sets of hands, from preparing the fibre to the final quality check. When you wear or use something from Konti, you're holding the work of the women who made it, and we're proud to put their names on it.

Every purchase supports the women who make it
